4. Biggest reason for NO:

What a great exercise in looking at what works and what doesn't or what is appealing and what isn't. I will use what I've learned to update my own profile. I was more attracted to profiles with more substance and less words. I plan to at least break up my paragraphs with some white space for easier reading. And I'll add some features and benefits for the reader rather than making it all about me. Thanks Kim!

I agree with Michele, this is a very good exercise.

For me the main reason for not "joining" is that I do not connect to the products. Which is a choice you had on your survey.

Except for Carol, I still feel like they are trying to "sell" me or convince me. I don't know if this has any validity, but that's what I felt when I read the profiles.

Now this means I must try to objectively read my own profile and see if it comes across that same way...which is hard to do, be objective about your own profile :)

Because I follow your blog and have seen many of their posts here I know they are all kind hearted people and are passionate about what they are doing.

Regards,
Erin

This was really interesting. Like Michelle I was attracted to less words and more substance, as I tend to be a skimmer and then if I'm interested I seek out more info. It made me look at it from the seeker's viewpoint not mine... that they are saying "What's in it for me?". I am going to alter my profile more to adjust to their perspective. Thanks Kim.. this was a neat exercise.

I skimmed over the profiles and did not read them in depth.

All I had to see was their parents had died of cancer (mine too) and they wanted to make sure it didn't happen to them (me too) by using nutrition (like me).

Also, when they mentioned that they had paid off $30,000 of credit card debt, I knew they were getting results from their business, and not just product lovers or belongers.

Because though I'm into health and nutrition, I want to make money too.

I must be in the minority because I am interested in someone who's got a vision for building a business. The personal details are interesting and touching but when I consider joining a network marketing company, I look for people with strong leadership skills. Good products and passion are essential but that will only take you so far.

This was an interesting exercise, and fun, too.

I chose Robin because I could relate to her. She has a 9 yr. old son, I have a 9 yr. old daughter. Her profile sounded fun, and she showed a lot of what she liked to do, opening up her world to me. That's important to me. I didn't find her profile too long, nor did I find Ilka's too long. Walter's and Carol's were too short - I do make the time to read and I want to know more about YOU.

Walter, your profile was too salesy for me. I clicked off. Sorry.

Carol, I loved chatting with you last week on the Wednesday night call. I just wish you had said more about yourself on your profile.

Ilka, I could totally relate to you as well, because not only do we share a love of books, but we are both foreigners to the U.S. (I'm from Jamaica).

I think the reason why Robin edged Ilka out was that Robin shared the other interests that she has - the racing, camping, etc. Her profile was more interesting. (I have spoken to both these ladies at least online, so I know they are both interesting. I am just speaking of the profiles.)

Kim, if I could have made up the reasons for choosing who I chose, I would have added "I related to this person/profile". As it was, I chose "like picture" because none of the others really fit.

Out of the profiles that were featured for this, I connected most with the style and content that was on Walter's profile. Even though it might not be the direction I am heading with my business goals. I just felt it was well balanced.
